Question mark made of small bombs

Quick Answers

Is BombChicken pay-to-win?

No. Cosmetics only. Scores come from skill, not spend.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Your progress and cosmetics are stored locally and sync when you’re back online.

Will there be multiplayer?

We’re exploring friendly ghost races and time trials—no toxic competition.

Does blast-jumping hurt?

Only in a funny way. Timing right turns booms into boosts.

What are the basic controls?

Touch (mobile):

  • Tap — Drop a bomb (short fuse).
  • Hold — Stack bombs into a ladder.
  • Swipe — Subtle nudge while riding a blast.

Keyboard / Controller (PC):

  • Left/Right — Move. Up — Climb on stacks.
  • Space / A — Tap to drop, hold to stack.
  • Shift / B — Precise step (for tight timing).

Tip: Watch the fuse length—short fizz means move now; long fizz means plan a route.

How does scoring work?
  • Clean Climb — Finish a room without panic jumps or hits.
  • Near Miss — Brush danger without taking damage (tiny bonus).
  • Egg Pickup — Optional, risky shortcuts that boost score.
  • Style Streak — Consecutive clean rooms multiply points.

There’s no penalty for retrying. We value learning routes over grinding numbers.

What accessibility options are included?
  • Colorblind-friendly palettes and high-contrast silhouettes.
  • Motion reduction (screen shake/flash sliders).
  • Visual rhythm guide — subtle fuse ticks and thump cues.
  • Remappable inputs on PC; adjustable touch size on mobile.
  • Large text for UI and subtitles.

Will my progress sync across devices?

Yes. The game is local-first and automatically backs up when you’re online. If you switch devices, your rooms cleared, settings, and cosmetics restore after the next sign-in/sync.

Privacy note: We store only what’s needed for saves and balancing. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Any tips for smoother performance or longer battery life?
  • Lower particle effects and screen shake in Settings → Graphics.
  • Cap frame rate to 30 FPS on older devices.
  • Close background apps and keep the device cool.
  • On laptops, use Balanced power mode; on mobile, enable your OS’s Battery Saver.

If timing still feels off, toggle audio off/on to re-sync beats (helps after long suspends).

Troubleshooting

  1. Restart the app: clears temporary hiccups.
  2. Check storage: leave 300 MB free for saves and cache.
  3. Toggle audio: if timing feels off, re-enable sound.
  4. Lower effects: older devices prefer fewer particles.
